The NCRM
is about railroads, but the history surrounding
railroads includes the culture and lives of the
people operating the trains and living in the towns,
farms, and cities they serve. We need your help in
preserving the knowledge and artifacts of the
history and heritage we all share and telling that
story to others. We need people
with interests and/or skills in as many areas as you
can imagine. Some examples of these are:
|
Administrators |
|
Docents |
|
Sewing
Hobbyists |
|
Artists |
|
Gardeners |
|
Shopkeepers |
|
Bookkeepers |
|

If you
have interests and/or skills in other areas and want
to be involved we can probably use what you are able
to do as well, so be creative. The only real
requirements are you be at least eighteen (18) years
old, share an interest in history with the rest of
us, and be willing to work as a volunteer to help
preserve that history for the future.
Work sessions are held at Bonsal every Saturday (and
most Sundays) from 9:00AM to 5:00PM all year round. There is always plenty of
work and fun to go around.
In addition, you have the option to join the
East Carolina Chapter, National Railway Historical
Society, Inc. a group of the national organization
dedicated to our vision: To act as a custodian of
the history and heritage of North Carolina
railroads, maintaining this knowledge for the
education and enlightenment of the future.
